BioMix Compressed Gas Mixing System at the Orlando Water Conserv II WRF
BioMix Compressed Gas Mixing System was installed at the Water Conserv II WRF in Orlando, FL as part of a biological nutrient removal enhancement project. EnviroMix's BioMix compressed gas mixing system was selected to provide improved mixing and process control in the first anoxic stage of a four stage Bardenpho process on the basis of lowest life cycle cost of mixing technologies. Prior to the upgrade effluent total nitrogen concentration was on average of 4-5 mg/l and following the upgrade effluent total nitrogen concentration was between 1-2 mg/l. This successful project resulted in construction of an energy-efficient mixing system with low maintenance. The BioMix system enhanced denitrification within the biological process and improved overall plant performance. BioMix has been operational at Water Conserv II since 2016. Aerial drone footage was captured in the winter of 2017.
