ABBA is a Swedish pop group formed in Stockholm in 1972 by Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad. The group's name is an acronym of the first letters of their first names. I created this video essay on ABBA exploring the darker aspects of their euphoric pop music. ABBA has always been generally known as a synth-pop band but that has eclipsed the true genius behind their understanding of emotions! Some of their most famous songs like Waterloo, Knowing Me, Knowing You and even the entire album of The Visitors are filled with surprisingly dark moments. Here's a deeper look into ABBA's beautiful lyrics.
