Lived in Taiwan for a decade total. 2010, around September to August of 2011. Spent 3 and some years in the States again working for government and banking before returning to Taiwan in 2014. Left almost exactly a few months after I first arrived a decade later. 2024.
[Bridge:]
What a ride it's been. The riddles and the fun and the experiences abundant and completely different than I'd have ever expected.
[Chorus:]
A 9-5 guy, office worker, part time musician on the side, becoming a teacher. Who'd have thunk?
[Verse 2:]
In a way; we're all teachers. Every experience we have affects those around us. No matter if we mean it to or not. Just walking down the road, a car has to be aware you're there so they see you.

You're there.
They're there.
[Bridge 2:]
At the grocery store, bakery, bank, or restaurant; we acknowledge each other. The more frequently we go there, the code learns who the other people are to remind us of what they like to talk about.

[Verse 3:]
Their names, their life and passions and history. And, and, and.
Then we go home and sleep. Sometimes we feel alone. But we're not. We just go outside and meet those people again and they remember us and ask us similar questions in retort: "How's your (insert person or life scenario here)?". We respond with a serious or silly quip.
[Choir:]
You're not alone. I'm not alone. We're all a big family. Even for those we meet only once, even for a few seconds. We can trip on the sidewalk by mistake and someone helps you - it changes not only yours; but their daily scenario to affect their day by seconds, or minutes. Sometimes even hours or days, and more.
[Verse 4:]
And in turn their and my and our stories will be retold about you and I and them to their and mine and our friends and families and communities which then has effects on their thoughts and doings and opinions and the sort.
We existed in someone's eyes for just that glimpse if not more.
It's astounding.
