The Jackie Gleason Show: "Cantor at 65" January 12, 1957

This program was a tribute to Eddie Cantor upon reaching his 65th birthday (which was actually on January 31st). It was also the last week of Jackie Gleason's three-week vacation. Jackie was such a fan of Eddie Cantor that he turned his show over to him to celebrate his milestone birthday with guest stars including Lucille Ball & Desi Arnaz, George Burns & Gracie Allen, Eddie Fisher, Pinky Lee, Burt Lancaster, George Jessel, Edward R. Murrow, Connie Russell, and Eddie's daughter Marilyn. This was live TV and Cantor, who had suffered a previous heart attack, began showing signs of exhaustion as the show progressed. He had to sit down at the finale and a concerned George Jessel brought him a cup of water. Immediately after the broadcast Cantor was taken by ambulance to the hospital.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
