Puning, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Guangdong Province, is managed by Jieyang City. It is located in the south of eastern Guangdong Province, west of Chaoshan Plain, and the upper reaches of Rongjiang, Lianjiang and Longjiang. Between 115°43′10″ to 116°21′02″ east longitude and 23°05′40″ to 23°31′48″ north latitude, the Tropic of Cancer traverses the northern part of the city, with a total area of 1,620 square kilometers
