Stephen Gillen ended up spending 17 years behind bars as a Category-A prisoner in a high security prison in the culmination of his career as a violent criminal.

He moved to Belfast as a child and was exposed to death and violence from a very early age. Stephen says despite coming from a very challenging upbringing, he was "groomed for a life of crime".

In this video he details his journey from witnessing his first death, his first stint in prison after stabbing someone aged 14, how he was eventually sentenced to 17 years as a Category-A prisoner and became friends with the notorious Charles Bronson.
