Journey to Twenty One

I thought this would be a different project. I initially wanted to document the month leading up to my 21st bday, with different episodes. I wanted to include my thoughts somehow in those episodes, regarding my 21st bday and what this age may mean.
I used to think 21 yr olds were full grown adults, but that is far from how I’m feeling. That’s more true physically than mentally and emotionally. My reality is that I don’t want to grow up—things are easier as a child/teenager because you can always fall onto someone else, or something else-- like the fact that you are still a child. For me, I can lean onto the fact that I’m in school. I’m still a student, so I’m not a full adult yet...?

This will be my 3rd birthday @ Columbia University, away from family too.
Alone basically.

Anyways, speaking of 3 yrs, this song perfectly captures how I felt entering this academic year. When I started to listen to the lyrics I instantly knew I wanted to make a video with this song. That was an exciting moment.
This song captures what I’m feeling now in life & school....which is basically my life rn.

I’m not sure who else will be reading this but I like to document my life moments. Even the small things, and I like to create.

This feels like a big moment, and although I won’t be celebrating like the world typically does once they reach this age, I’m not interested in that anyway.🥂

I made this in 24hrs btw. I’m v proud of that. I may have not done my school work, but it’s my bday!! That means at least a week off, right?
