Keepers of the Land: Soil Conservation

Soil is a living resource that holds water, cycles nutrients and anchors plants. Throughout South Carolina, you will find a wide variety of soil types and textures which are integral in providing clean drinking water, nutritious food, and thriving habitats. As keepers of the land, Soil and Water Conservation District Commissioners are dedicated to being good stewards of our natural resources, whether that's in their backyard, integrating conservation into their agricultural production, or initiating larger-scale projects through the local conservation district.

Be sure to find your local Soil and Water Conservation District and learn more how you can get involved: https://dnr.sc.gov/conservation/index.html
