2007 ICC Cricket World Cup

Cricket fans bound for the West Indies to cheer the Indian team in the ICC Cricket World Cup-2007 will be watching the matches in the company of 'Mello', the official mascot of the tournament. Four inflatable versions of 'Mello', the 16-foot-tall cat, designed and made by Inflatable Ideas, a Hyderabad-based company were recently shipped from Hyderabad to West Indies ahead of the tournament's opening. V N Bhanu, the Managing Director of Inflatable Ideas, said every single worker who had run a needle to give 'Mello' shape was thrilled with his or her contribution. "We all are happy that we have made something for cricket which is supreme in India. Every single worker is thrilled to know that they had contributed something that will be shown worldwide," Bhanu said. Reportedly, a Californian company outsourced the task to India. 'Mello', dressed in a pair of Bermudas and a cool Caribbean shirt, carries a ball and a bat to match the spirit of the event it has been tailored for. The Indian team will play its first match against Bangladesh on March 17.
