Empress of the Seas: Complete Ship Tour

This is the definitive Empress of the Seas tour video. Filmed during the October 10th to October 17th 2019 7 Night Western Caribbean Sailing, it covers every public space onboard.

The Empress of the Seas is a one off ship in a class of its own. Originally ordered for Admiral Cruises to be the Future Seas the order was instead transferred to Royal Caribbean after their acquiring of Admiral in 1987. Originally launch in 1990 as the Nordic Empress she was built for the purpose of doing the 3 and 4 day cruises from Puerto Rico she came to fame in 1999 when transferred to New York to take over the 7 night Bermuda routes. In 2004 she received some Royal Caribbean enhancements like the addition of a Rock Climbing Wall and a new name, the Empress of the Seas, to allow her to better fit in with the rest of the fleet. Just four years later in 2008 she was transferred out of the Royal Caribbean fleet to Pullmantur Cruises and renamed to simply Empress.

In 2016 she became the first ship to ever return to the Royal Caribbean when she was brought back from Pullmantur and returned to her name of Empress of the Seas. In returning she received extensive refurbishments to bring her back up to standards though she retained a more traditional small ship feel and style. The main reason for the return was to gain a small ship capable of sailing into the more secluded ports of Cuba in preparation for the opening of the destination. This ultimately came to fruition but was shortly lived as the destination was once again closed off in June of 2019 forcing her to make last minute itinerary changes and cancel an entire season of sailing. She is now sailing a variety of length sailings to destinations in the caribbean from Miami and will be sailing to Bermuda from the New York market during the summer beginning in 2020.
