Sky Observers Hangout: The Jupiter-Saturn Great Conjunction
This year's winter solstice brings us not only the longest night of the year, but also a rare and exciting celestial event: The Jupiter and Saturn Great Conjunction! 🌌 Jupiter and Saturn will be just 1/5th the diameter of the Moon apart from each other on the evening of December 21st, 2020. ✨ Join us for this episode of Sky Observers Hangout to learn how to observe these planets and this unique conjunction in your sky! 🌃
Sky Observers Hangout is a production of the Adler Planetarium—the first planetarium in the Western Hemisphere! Located on Chicago’s lakeshore, the museum typically hosts more than half a million visitors each year and reaches millions more through youth STEAM programs, neighborhood skywatching events, people-powered research, and other outreach efforts. Today, the Adler is bringing our unique approach—scientific exploration rooted in community and connection—to guests from around the world who can enjoy the digital Adler from their own homes, libraries, schools or offices.
