Stacking Firewood - Holz Hausen Style

Stacking firewood using the Holz Hausen style.
* Start by measuring and marking out a ring. The ground we stacked ours on is mostly gravel and rock with a very thin layer of soil. It's good to stack the wood off the ground or a well drained area.
* Make a ring of wood around the perimeter of the circle. I forgot to do that and had to go back and put that in. This ring starts the slope of the wood. You want it to slope inward to the middle of the ring.
* Continue stacking the wood around in a circle.
* Toss the odd shaped pieces in the middle of the ring.
* Continue to build it up to about 5 feet tall. Build up the center to create a dome. You can cover this with a tarp or custom cover. We're still building ours.
We need more wood to finish this one. Time to get busy cutting down more trees and splitting wood.
I really like the appearance of the Holz Hausen stack compared to the normal line of firewood. This feels very sturdy.
