1968-69 Television Season 50th Anniversary: The Doris Day Show (Bernie Kopell interview)

The Doris Day Show not only had a wonderful group of guest stars stop by to visit, but a fine supporting weekly cast as well, including Bernie Kopell. In this interview (from mid 2000s), Mr. Kopell reminisces about good times on the set and working with Ms. Day and fellow cast and crew members. Other well known television actors who worked on The Doris Day Show:

Rose Marie (The Dick Van Dyke Show)
Kay Ballard (The Mother's In-Law)
McLain Stevenson (M*A*S*H)
Bernie Kopell (The Love Boat)
Billy DeWitt (Good Morning World)
Denver Pyle (The Dukes of Hazzard)
John Dehner (The Baileys of Balboa)
Philip Brown (The Colbys)

Bernie Kopell was indeed one of the busiest actors in town in that mid-late 1960s and early 1970s timeframe, leading up to his famous role as Doc on The Love Boat in the late 1970s and 1980s. In this video clip, he also touches upon his good fortune to have worked on many legendary television series that featured starring roles for very important television leading ladies of that era, including:

Doris Day (The Doris Day Show)
Marlo Thomas (That Girl)
Elizabeth Montgomery (Bewitched)
Barbara Feldon (Get Smart)

Enjoy !
