This is the brains of the operation. It takes the HDMI signal from your player/computer/etc and turns it into an analog signal that your television can understand. It's sort of a like a monitor without the screen. So, the final screen resolution (1080p, 4k, etc.) and aspect ratio (4:3, 16:9, etc.) will be determined by whatever the resolution and aspect ration of this little converter box. You will need a Mini-USB cable and a 5v USB wall adapter (like your phone's USB plug) to power it. The HDMI to Composite Converter linked in this post has worked well for me on my TVs.

This is an affordable way to connect composite cables to BNC connectors. You could spend more money for cables with BNC connectors but I don't think it's necessary.
