Laravel 11 Tutorial with MongoDB #119 | Assign Tracking Details to Shipped Orders and Send via Email

This is Part 119 of the Laravel 11 Tutorial, in which we are building the e-commerce website with Laravel as the front end and MongoDB as the back end.

In this part, we will manually assign the Courier Name and Tracking Number to the orders while making the order shipped from the admin panel.

1) Update order_details.blade.php file :-
Add text fields for courier name and tracking number and show them every time when shipped status is selected. Also, add id's for order_status, courier_name and tracking_number.

2) Update custom.js file :-
Now, we will show courier name and tracking number only if shipped status gets selected so we will update custom.js file to write jquery code for it.

3) Update updateOrderStatus function :-
Now we will update updateOrderStatus function to update courier name and tracking number in orders table.

4) Update order_details.blade.php file :-
Now, we will show courier name and tracking number in orders log with Shipped status.

Now, we will send an order shipped email with tracking number and courier name to customer whenever order status updated to Shipped from the admin panel.

5) Update updateOrderStatus function:-
Send courier_name and tracking_number from updateOrderStatus function to order status email.

6) Update order_status.blade.php file:
Finally update template of order status email with courier_name and tracking_number.
