Untangling the North Atlantic Right Whale

Every year between two and five whales are reported as entangled, and more than 70 per cent of all known right whales show scars on their bodies caused by encounters with fishing gear. If mortality resulting from entanglements is not reduced, the population is not likely to survive another 200 years.
