Yosemite National Park

Yosemite National Park is in California’s Sierra Nevada mountains. It’s famed for its giant ancient sequoia trees, granite cliffs, scenic vistas and iconic towering waterfalls.

Below are some of the places I visit in this video:
○Ribbon Fall flows off a cliff on the west side of El Capitan and is the longest single-drop waterfall in North America. The fall is fed by melting winter snow and therefore dry for much of the year. But during my visit the 1,612 foot high fall was spectacular.
○El Capitan is a vertical rock formation located on the north side of Yosemite Valley, near its western end. The granite monolith is about 3,000 feet from base to summit along its tallest face, and is a popular objective for rock climbers.
○Yosemite Falls is the highest waterfall in Yosemite National Park, dropping a total of 2,425 feet from the top of the upper fall to the base of the lower fall. During my visit I take the trail to the base of the lower falls.
○Half Dome is a granite dome at the eastern end of Yosemite Valley. It is a well-known rock formation in the park, named for its distinct shape. One side is a sheer face while the other three sides are smooth and round, making it appear like a dome cut in half.
○Bridalveil Fall is one of the most prominent waterfalls in the Yosemite Valley. The waterfall is 617 feet high.
○Tunnel View provides one of the most famous views of Yosemite Valley. From here you can see El Capitan and Bridalveil Fall rising from Yosemite Valley, with Half Dome in the background.
○Glacier Point is the most spectacular viewpoint anywhere on earth. Most people agree that its views of the high country and breathtaking views of Yosemite Valley, including Half Dome and three waterfalls, are the most spectacular in the park.
