Combat Bulletin #39 "Incendiary Bombing Tests, etc., 1945" National Archives description: "Part 1 (SFR only), clusters of incendiary bombs are dropped in tests in India. Part 1 (CB only), U.S. planes are repaired by Yugoslav patriots. Crews sightsee. Part 2 (CB part 3) shows Stilwell Road construction: trees are felled, rock is blasted, and a bridge is built. Part 3 (SFR only), Amb. Hurley presents credentials to Chiang Kai-shek in Chungking (Jan. 8). Chinese troops deplane from U.S. transports near the city. Part 4 (CB part 5, reel 2) introduces the M-24 tank and its modifications and distinguishes it from the M-5 and a similar German tank. Part 5 (CB part 4, reel 2), U.S. troops use a German 20-mm machine gun; bazooka shells are used to blow up road blocks; a "Weasel" lays telephone wire over rough terrain; (Reel 2) a soldier-tailor makes snow camouflage suits that are worn by troops in France; and (SFR only) troops in France operate a flamethrower, practice assault techniques, and fire a new bazooka rocket. Part 6 (SFR only), a model is used to study the flooding effects of destroying German dams. Part 7 (CB part 6), Labaun, Borneo, is bombed and strafed in two lone attacks by 13th AAF planes. Part 8 (CB part 2) demonstrates the effect of bullet penetration of old and new-style oxygen tanks. Part 9 (CB part 2) shows wind tunnel and flight tests of a buzz bomb.
