File Download with JavaScript

Many apps generate data in-memory, like an analytics app creating a CSV or an image editor creating an exported graphic. We need some way for the user to download these files from their browser to their computer, but the files aren't hosted anywhere.

Fortunately, browsers come with APIs for creating and managing files. We can take advantage of these to generate in-browser links, and then download those to the user's computer - all with JavaScript.

In this video, we'll learn about these APIs and create a function that allows us to download any string of text that we want.
