Snooker Incident | Ronnie O'Sullivan vs Saqib Nasir | 2021 Championship League - Group

Referee Rob Spencer declares a rarely called foul: a Push Stroke, usually difficult to detect. Alleged offender, Ronnie O'Sullivan, disagrees as well as commentators Tom Ford and Phil Yates.

Official Rule
2.19 Push Stroke
A push stroke is made when the tip of the cue remains in contact with the cue-ball;
(a) after the cue-ball has commenced its motion, other than momentarily at the point of initial contact; or
(b) as the cue-ball contacts an object ball except, where the cue-ball and an object ball are almost touching, it shall not be deemed a push stroke if the cue-ball hits a very fine edge of the object ball.

Note: (a) "after the cue-ball has commenced its motion" is not included in the video because the cue always remains in contact after the cue-ball started to move. The opposite would be against physics.

Cesar Muroya created a unique editing technique to extract the essence of the game without losing the drama involved. Contextual information is also an innovation appreciated by viewers.

This format is not intended to substitute the full version but make snooker more accessible to new fans. The fluency and atmosphere of the game stay in a shorter-length video, allowing even experienced fans to enjoy snooker at any time.
