73. WHAT IS THE SUM OF FIRST n TERMS OF AN ARITHMETIC SEQUENCE? (A-level Maths, Pure Maths Video 73)

This is video 73 in my series of A-level Pure Mathematics videos. In this video, we prove that the sum of the first n terms of any given arithmetic sequence, with a first term "a" and a common difference "d", is given by S_n = 1/2n(2a+(n-1)d). We then use this example to find the sum of the first 100 terms of a particular arithmetic sequence to illustrate how to use the formula.
