Samhuinn Fire Festival 2017 [Extra Embers]

Octobers in Edinburgh see the Beltane Fire Society's interpretation of the Gaelic celebration marking the end of Summer. Samhuinn is one of 4 celebrations (Beltane, Imbolc and Lughnasadh) marking the transition between seasons and the eternal cycle. BFS shares both Samhuinn and Beltane with Edinburgh each year and sees thousands of spectators, or "witnesses". The word "Samhuinn" (and other variations) has various derivations, but the most common translation is "Summer's End".
