Flying the TINY Embraer ERJ 145! | Guernsey to Edinburgh with LOGANAIR, Scotland's Airline
VIDEO: Loganair Embraer ERJ 145 Trip Report Full Flight in Economy class from Guernsey Airport, GCI in the Channel Islands to Edinburgh Airport, EDI in Scotland. Review of this inaugural flight.
Hello everyone and welcome to a very special trip report. Today, I am flying with Scottish Airline Loganair, on their first ever flight from Guernsey Airport located in the channel islands to Edinburgh Airport, the capital city of Scotland. This flight is operated on an Embraer ERJ 145.
My day actually started at London Gatwick as I needed to get to Guernsey Airport for 10am that day. This meant that I had to take Aurigny's Embraer E195 jet on the early morning 8:35am flight to the second largest Channel island. Upon arrival at GCI, I managed to catch Loganair's first arrival of one of their E135's from Jersey which would later depart out to Bournemouth (another new route starting that day). That video of the arrival can be found on my channel!
My flight boarded on time and after a short delay, we pushed back and took off to Edinburgh. Our route took us out for a westerly departure followed by a sharp right turn heading north up over Wales, past Liverpool and over the lake district before arriving in Edinburgh in the early afternoon.
Loganair offers a complimentary on-board service, where you can choose a drink from a good selection as well as a biscuit for free. I really love that nice touch that they offer on their flight. The cabin crew were nice (despite there only being one crew member), and the aircraft was a novelty to fly. Plus, it was a very empty flight as there were only 17 passengers on board!
The ERJ-145 I flew on was formerly a BMI Regional Aircraft, and the cabin was still configured with the old BMI seats. The plane was, however, 20 years old which means it was showing it's age a little, but it was such a great ride and the takeoff was probably the most intense acceleration on an aircraft I have felt before!
Overall, a great flight with Loganair and I would definitely recommend the airline.
