The Outlander PHEV is highly efficient, and the driving range can be maximised with a few simple steps. Your potential driving range can be viewed on the dashboard, and is constantly adjusted based on the energy usage of the vehicle. The ambient conditions and driving style used will influence the energy consumption of the car, and this will be monitored by the onboard system. The Outlander will also monitor the driving style and vigour of the last journey, and will use this to help it determine the potential range when the vehicle is next turned on. A route with steep inclines and hills will make use of the regenerative braking system, whereby the engine captures energy when the accelerator is released and recycles this back to the battery.
