Conversation with Cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto | MFF 2019

The Washington Post’s chief film critic Ann Hornaday talks with Oscar-nominated cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto, recipient of the festival’s Distinguished Cinematographer Award, about his most recent collaboration with Martin Scorsese on The Irishman. Prieto’s known for his meticulous setups, unconventional camerawork, and use of color and light to convey to convey emotion.

Spanning decades, The Irishman, chronicles one of the greatest unsolved mysteries in American mystery -- the disappearance of legendary union boss, Jimmy Hoffa. Directed by Martin Scorsese and featuring a remarkable cast included Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, and Harvey Keitel.
