Fly Me to the Moon – Chord Backing & Improvisation Learning ♫🎹 Johnny JAM🎸
🎶 Learning Chords & Tone with Fly Me to the Moon – Adult Beginner Music Series 🎶
Welcome to my ongoing music journey as an adult beginner!
In this video series, I’m using the classic jazz tune “Fly Me to the Moon” as a learning platform to deeply explore:
🎹 Piano chord backing techniques
🎸 Electric guitar tone and improvisation
🎵 Moving bass lines with electric bass
🎶 Chord tone understanding and jazz harmony
🎼 Music theory in action, including II–V–I progressions and circle of fifth movement
This series is not just a performance—it's a progress record of learning how chords move, how tones interact, and how to express yourself musically through instruments.
We're going step-by-step through backing patterns, tone shaping, chord movement, and melodic improvisation, all while training the ear and building fretboard and keyboard awareness.
📍 Highlights:
Chord tone learning with real instruments
Music theory through Fly Me to the Moon
Backing track building with piano, bass, and guitar
Layered learning with improvisation practice
Designed for adult beginners and self-learners
If you’re also learning music later in life, let’s grow together.
Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more music creation sessions and chill vibes!

As an adult beginner learning music, I’ve started a series based on the classic jazz tune “Fly Me to the Moon” to study chord progressions, tone, and melody construction.
This project uses piano, electric bass, and electric guitar to:
Build a strong foundation in chord tone understanding
Explore how bass lines move under chords
Practice improvisation and melody with awareness of harmony
Learn music theory through real songs, not just textbooks
By looping the A section and focusing on jazz movement like II–V–I progressions and circle of fifths, I’m gradually syncing theory with actual sound and playing feel.
If you're also learning as an adult or building your musicality with passion and patience, join me on this journey!

Adult Beginner Piano Progress 🎹 from October 2023
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLyMWYRYew5PuPV5OLiPge__Mz0pr5FLqo
I started to read music sheet and practice piano from October 2023. Before that, I play chord on piano but did not know how to read music sheet and play piano. It’s my record of piano journey in order to motivate beginners like me.
At the first month I used "Burnam Piano - A dozen a day" to learn the basic. It's hard to get used to play with both hands and reading music score.
Little by little I get used to play piano and,
I learn "Canon - Pachelbel" easy ver.
Still it was hard to read music score. So I used Piano keys stamp and write on the music score. Also I learn how to read music score. I learned a lot from reading score on desk, without playing piano. Of course playing piano is essential. But it was nice to read, write and understand the score. How chord works, bass note, and octave movement of notes (interval on notes).
