I Tried Taking 0 Notes In Medical School (BS strategy or nah?)

I'm a pen and paper guy. I always liked writing things down, and I never liked having a very computerized workflow. No Notion. No anki (until this week), no ipad, no fancy apps or lasers and gadgets, literally just one all subject notebook that I sometimes take notes in (and occasionally an excel spreadsheet). My entire schedule is kept on a notebook. I've never had the most productive routine. Just start early, do some work, relax a little, rinse and repeat. But that isn't to say these productive and "ultra efficient" methods of studying aren't good. In fact, they could be just what I need.

So of course, I figured it'd be best to try out this new medical school 0 notes strategy (which was very foreign to me) before things got crazy so if it worked, I could just step right back into it when needed. Now of course, there are a lot of merits to taking notes, but when people use notetaking as a tool to study, it often just involves summarizing and rereading and putting that into text, which isn't the most effective study method, so is it something that can be cut out of a workflow entirely? In this video, I spent 1 week taking 0 notes, just following the strategies set forth by other youtubers like Mike and Matty and Zach Highley and I'll share with the pros and cons and the entire journey of how it went. Enjoy.

COMMENT Below If You'd Consider Taking No Notes ✨

I feel like I didn't speak on this enough at the end of the video, but once again, I still feel that notetaking should be a quick way to help you process information. It doesn't need to take a long time, and when possible is still good just to put ur thoughts somewhere concrete.

While not my preferred method, (and not one i will currently switch to) it still works. There are merits to both taking AND not taking notes, and some of it just comes down to what you need to learn and your preferences. That being said, it doesn't mean you should switch what you're doing if what you're doing works for you, but if what you're doing doesn't, worth a try.
