Marathon running backwards? Antarctica hosts ‘first-ever’ Antarctic backwards mile race | ANC

On The Scene: Stranded and waiting to be picked up in Antarctica, a group of marathon runners decided to do the only logical thing, stage a backwards mile-run which, they’re calling the ‘first-ever’ of its kind on the southernmost continent. As they waited for their flight from Union Glacier, just 600 miles from the South Pole, out of Antarctica to Punta Arenas in southern Chile; they decided to kill the time with the backwards competition on Monday (December 15).
