Best $400 Seiko Dive Watch? Why Everyone Was WRONG: Mini-Turtle Review

Today we wade deep through horological territory and into the heart of dive watches.

A few weeks ago I unboxed the affectionately named "Mini-Turtle" 200m Prospex dive watch (Ref. SRPC39K) from Seiko. After spending some serious time with it, I decided to take an in-depth look at this modern descendent of a watch worn by many US troops during the Vietnam War. This Seiko was immortalized on film after being worn by Martin Sheen in the 1979 cinematic masterpiece Apocalypse Now.

In this video I discuss its unique design heritage, historic lineage, where it fits into the modern Seiko range of entry level divers, and why everyone was wrong about this watch. I also compare it to my smaller SKX013 and larger iconic SKX007. Join me for an unforgettable journey through the horological jungle to see if this could be the new best professional dive watch under $400.
