Transfer Large Files to USB Without Errors
Things we need:
• A USB flash drive with enough storage space
• Access to Command Prompt with Administrator permissions
• A Desktop Computer or Laptop
• A file larger than 4GB
Step-by-step Guide
Step 1: Plug in your USB flash drive.
Step 2: Right-click on the USB drive and select Properties.
Step 3: Check the File System. If it says FAT32, proceed to the next steps.
Step 4: Open Command Prompt as Administrator.
Step 5: Type the following command:
convert [YourDriveLetter]: /fs:ntfs
(Example: convert E: /fs:ntfs)
Step 6: Press Enter and wait for the process to complete. Once done, type "exit"
Step 7: Check the USB Drive file system and your USB drive will now be using the NTFS file system and can now handle large file transfers.
Tips
• Always back up your files before making any changes to avoid data loss.
• You can also format your USB to NTFS manually, but this will erase all data.
• NTFS is best for large files, but FAT32 is more compatible with older devices and game consoles.This video is created for educational purposes only.
