Kids don't forget a promise

I tell y'all Matthew is an old soul. Here's what went down last night.
We were watching a movie and he wanted to play with his DS. This DS has taken over and is rapidly taking priority over all he does. If we let him he'd probably play on it all day. (DS could easily be our Nanny) so he kept sneaking. Mommy finally was done realizing how much this small electronic was taking over.
So I took it away hiding it from them and vowed they would never see this device again. Why they asked I roared back because we're trying to have family time and you guys can't appreciate that. You can't appreciate what you have.

This morning just like every morning he stumbled into our room crawled between his daddy and mommy and laid there silently not saying much while both his dad and I are catching up on Social media. I'm showing him videos he talks a bit then again he is silent. Finally I say Matt - Matt are you crying again. He just shrugged away. Daddy ask what's wrong. Finally he gets out of bed stomps to the door and roars back. I'm sad because I want my electrical like you guys have.

Daddy and Mommy's jaws drop we look at each other and realize how right he is. How can we expect to teach a lesson when we ourselves can't escape or own enemy. We are held hostage by these things and yet try to show our kids otherwise.
