Dr. Hani El-Gabalawy is a professor of Internal Medicine and Immunology at the University of Manitoba and Endowed Rheumatology Research Chair; former Scientific Director of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research—Institute of Musculoskeletal Health and Arthritis (CIHR-IMHA); former Medical Advisory Committee member and is currently an advisor on the Arthritis Society’s research strategy. This presentation includes emerging information on causes of, and treatment for, acute and chronic pain; current and imminent initiatives in pain research.
