HOTEL 2 The Best WesternPremier Dover Marina Hotel & Spa

The #bestwesternpremier marina and spa #dover … their computer said no”! … it was a Faulty Towers moment… this was our very second hotel on this trip, and it was also the second hotel to say no to our booking!! The concierge stated there was no record of payment on their computer, but our travel agent had booked and paid on our behalf approximately 9 months earlier!!

As soon as I was about to call our agent’s emergency service, the payment appeared on the computer. We were given an upgrade, a very strange hidden room at the back of the hotel, with little view and caged windows to stop pigeons flying in. I had booked and paid for a superior room, and we were given (as an upgrade!) a standard room. Very disappointing.

Apart from that, pleasant enough, although it would have been great to have one of the many rooms with a balcony overlooking the ocean (which was what I’d paid for). Must be more assertive in the future…nevertheless, we loved our time in Dover!

On Day 2:
Our first hotel in Singapore had no record of our booking at all! And after asking us to wait a couple of hours (that was fine - we were early anyway), the hotel in Singapore found it had made an admin error and had inadvertently booked us in for the previous March instead of May! They sorted it, and gave us a lovely upgrade in a large room with a great balcony with o lively view over the hotel golf course, and included breakfast.
We were certainly wondering what lay ahead for the next 44 days!!
