Easiest Way For Tying a Diamond Knot | The Soft Shackle Knot for Sailing

This video is to demonstrate the easiest way to tie a Diamond Knot used in soft shackles and for a larger stopper knot when you have two tails.

Keys:
1) The first loop the tail goes under
2) The second loop the tail goes over
3) The second loop goes under the first loop
4) The second tail goes under the tail of the first loop then under the and through the first loop, at this point you're almost done
5) The Tails naturally go in the direction you want to wrap around in this step, then you will pull up through the center of the knot shown in the video. This is the easiest part to mess up, if it doesn't look right and you followed steps 1-4 correctly, you may have brought the tails through the wrong part.

-Troubleshooting: if you did all the steps correctly and your knot looks distorted, work the knot with your fingers and pull gently and evenly on all 4 tails of the knot.
