Tacitus Tried to Discredit It — But Ended Up Confirming It

Tacitus wasn’t a Christian.
He was a Roman senator, a governor, and one of the most meticulous historians of his time.
And he despised Christianity.
But while describing the Great Fire of Rome and the persecution under Nero, he recorded something unexpected:
that “Christus” was executed during the reign of Tiberius, under the authority of Pontius Pilate.
This isn’t a Christian source.
It’s not trying to defend anything.
It’s a Roman account… from a hostile witness.
And that’s exactly why it matters.
Sometimes, the strongest attempts to discredit something end up confirming its most important details.
