Financing Africa’s Infrastructure Projects - Webinar
According to the Global Infrastructure Facility, the Infrastructure Financing Gap of Africa (the difference between the required infrastructure and the current economic infrastructure) stands at $1.9 trillion for the next 20 years. Energy, telecommunications, and transport infrastructure are the sectors with the strongest financing needs.
The absence of those investments leads to significant economic costs. These are hampering African countries from fully unleashing their potential. Demographic growth, urbanization, and aspiration for economic opportunities are likely to put pressure on the existing amenities. This will increase the need for modern infrastructure.
ABiQ hosted a webinar with industry leaders to discuss 'Financing Africa’s Infrastructure Projects' on 28th July 2020 and discussed the impact of the financing gap and funding post-COVID-19.
