Inside a Hotel With Runway Views Built in an Abandoned Airport Terminal | Hotel Tours

Today we visit John F. Kennedy airport in New York City to tour the one-of-a-kind TWA Hotel. The TWA boasts all the amenities you'd expect of a contemporary hotel while recreating the retro aesthetic of the former terminal's 60's heyday. Entering through the iconic Eero Saarinen designed lobby, arriving guests are whisked back in time to 1962, immersed in everything from the original arrivals and departures board to the lounge furniture and telephones. A vintage 1958 Lockheed Constellation airplane has been repurposed into a charming 60-seat cocktail bar, perfect for visiting after a dip in the rooftop infinity pool. Perhaps most unique of all, the TWA Hotel offers runway suites, providing an unparalleled vantage point for takeoffs and landings.
