Meet Dr. Catherine Mackey | Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon | Montefiore Einstein

Dr. Catherine Mackey is a pediatric orthopedic surgeon at Montefiore Einstein whose path to medicine began with a deeply personal experience: her father’s cancer diagnosis. In this video, Dr. Mackey shares how walking alongside him through treatment shaped her desire to help others and ultimately led her to pursue a career in orthopedic surgery.

Today, Dr. Mackey specializes in caring for children and adolescents with neuromuscular conditions, limb deformities, foot and ankle disorders, and traumatic injuries. A graduate of Yale and the valedictorian of Georgetown University School of Medicine, she trained at Montefiore Einstein and completed her pediatric orthopedic fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School.

Her commitment to advancing care extends beyond the clinic—Dr. Mackey’s research focuses on improving outcomes for patients with neuromuscular disease, scoliosis, pediatric fractures, and foot and ankle disorders. She has contributed to leading orthopedic texts and presented her work nationally.
