Maribor is the second largest after Ljubljana and the second industrial center of Slovenia, located among the green hills of the easternmost part of Alpine Slovenia. At the foot of the Pohorje Mountain and surrounded by the Drava River.
The resort town is popular especially in winter thanks to the ski slope .Maribor is a sports city crossed by walking and cyclingpaths andi a n important wine-producing center of Slovenia.
Founded in the 1200th century, it has retained its authentic style. Already on the bridge over the Drava River, churches and colorful houses look so picturesque that you want to enter the city as soon as possible and get to know it better.
The main (market) square is the heart of the Old Town. The most important and largest square of Maribor, where in the center, in the 1700 century, after a terrible plague, a column was erected, decorated with an original Baroque balustrade. The square is surrounded by beautiful old buildings, the town hall built in the 1600th century, and even the old brewery hasandhashas and has been preserved.
On the city square, where a monument to St. Florian, the city's patron saint, is erected, it is pleasant to sit in a cafe and admire the architectural style of the palaces.
The Cathedral in Maribor, dedicated to John the Baptist, built in the 12th century, was rebuilt in the Gothic style of red brick in the 14-15th century and impresses with its grandeur.
There are several wine-tasting yards in the city, so for a tourist, these are pleasant places to get acquainted with local winemaking. The oldest vine in the world grows right in the center of the city!

Курортный город, популярен особенно зимой благодаря горнолыжным трассам. Марибор не только спортивный город, пересекаемый пешеходными и велосипедными дорожками, но и важный винодельческий центр Словении.
Основанный в 1200 веке сохранил свой аутентичный стиль. Уже на мосту через реку Драва церквушки и разноцветные домики выглядят настолько живописно, что хочешь поскорее войти в город и узнать его поближе.
Главная (рыночная) площадь - сердце Старого города. Самая важная и большая площадь Марибора, где в центре, в 1700 веке, после страшной чумы, была установлена колонна, украшенная оригинальной балюстрадой в стиле Барокко. Площадь окружена красивыми старинными зданиями, сохранилась ратушу построенная в 1600 веке и даже старая пивоварня.
На городской площади, где возведён памятник святого Флориана, покровителя города приятно посидеть в кафе и любоваться архитектурным стилем дворцов.
Кафедральный собор в Мариборе, посвященный Иоанну Крестителю построенный еще в 12 столетии, в 14-15 веке был перестроен в готическом стиле из красного кирпича, впечатляет своим величием.
