Bear - The Three Best Songs from GREETINGS...

These three are probably the best songs from the great GREETINGS, CHILDREN OF PARADISE album by Bear, released on Verve Forecast Records in 1968:

1) "Greetings"
2) "It's Getting Very Cold Outside"
3) "Don't You Ever Want to Think about Them?"

Under their earlier name, the Children of Paradise, the band provided several songs for the soundtrack of Brian de Palma's 1968 underground movie GREETINGS, starring Robert de Niro. The movie opens with a more electrified version of "Greetings" than the one found on the Bear album, and the soundtrack includes a few other songs that later appeared on the Bear album in different versions. Bear's choice of album title shows that, despite their name change, they still wanted to capitalize on their involvement with the GREETINGS film, which was probably the most exposure that the group ever received.

I found my copy of this album in a record shop in Kent, Ohio.
