This video is an extension of my previous one about the API further explaining the THRUST detector in greater detail!!
Who knew it was all in the THRUST? I guess all those years spent on those sites weren't for nothing... Read Your Manuals!!
This video outlines a specific function of this compressor, and how it changes the interaction of the detection circuit with the incoming signal. Please understand that even though I did not say it exactly like this - I am assuming we all know that lower frequencies have more energy than higher frequencies so when I invert the gain of the tilt to flatten it, that is because it's how the incoming signal is hitting the threshold of the compressor. Higher frequencies are lower in energy/volume and require less volume to be heard/detected than lower frequencies, therefore I represent this on the graph (PRO Q4) by tilting negative values to gain perspective on why the THRUST! is effective.
