Evan's Dream

Evan, who lives with chronic and often debilitating asthma, is a track star at Charlotte Christian School. Some might look to decrease their activity after being told that an inhaler, nebulizer, and pulmonologist would be required to manage oxygen levels – not Evan. Not only does he bravely face the daily challenges that come with his condition, but he also prioritizes his love of running as an AAU and high school track all-star.

Evan’s Dream weekend included a surprise pep rally just for him where he learned that his Dream was coming true. The next day, Evan and his family were whisked off to Lexington, Kentucky for a weekend of fun, including time at TRF Sanctuary Farm at Chestnut Hall. This beautiful 25-acre farm in Prospect, KY serves as the “forever home” for 10 retired racehorses from the national herd of the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation.

Evan’s weekend was capped off by spending a few hours training 1:1 with Christian Sunday afternoon. Evan and Christian wasted no time once on-site at the University of Kentucky track. Christian took Evan through his warmup routine and spent over an hour working with Evan on just his starting form – something Christian is famous for.

After spending time training together, Christian showed Evan and his family around the Kentucky training facility and even threw some killer passes to Evan’s brother, Aron, a football player at Charlotte Christian School. Christian told Evan to stay in touch as he hopes to continue to help Evan on his journey as he trains for the 2028 Olympic Games.
