Lighting for Photography - Part III - Tungsten
Program notes
Hello all and welcome back to Allan Walls Photography.
Thank you to my Patreon supporters and to those kind folks who have made donations through my donation page (https://www.allanwallsphotography.com/donations). None of this would be possible without your generosity!
If you would like to support my efforts and help keep the videos coming, please consider signing up as a Patreon patron, which can be done by going to https://patreon.com/allanwallsphotography. I could certainly use your help!
This is the third video in the Lighting for Photography Series. I apologize for the length of the video - I really thought I could cover everything in a shorter time. Even though I couldn't, I have done something a little different with the format of this video. After finishing the editing, I went back and pulled any material that did not pertain directly to the subject at hand. This material consisted of fun facts, absurd anecdotes, dangerous experiments, and outright lies. But, not wanting to throw this material away, I moved it to the end of the video.
So... if you want to learn about incandescent (tungsten) lighting in photography, watch until I say goodbye. That will save you about 15 minutes of viewing time. In that section of the video, you will learn about tungsten light, how it is made, where it is used, how to correct for it, and how to embrace it as a creative tool. At the end I touch on modifying tungsten light and its role in macro photography.
But if you are in the mood for a little frivolity, don't go anywhere after I say my cheerios. In that last chunk of high quality entertainment, you will learn even more about tungsten and get to see how it burns when exposed to electricity and oxygen. You will also learn about the true history of the lightbulb*, the role of tungsten in the invention of the toilet**, and how Odin and his pack of wolf-raven pets were critically important in the discovery of tungsten***. Finally, I will give you a vacation idea that you and the entire family will love!
* Partially true
** Not true
*** Completely false
Please consider subscribing and ringing the bell - you will be alerted when the next AWP video is released.
Questions and comments are, as always, welcomed.
