RadioMaster TX12 Set Up Companion, Backup & Update Firmware

This video will assist you to download both the new OpenTX Companion utility and your new radio firmware. Please remember to back up your radio and model settings before proceeding with any firmware update because there is a possibility you may lose your radio and model settings in the process. This video is relevant for the RadioMaster TX12 and any other OpenTX transmitter.

Download Latest OpenTX Companion Utility

If you do not already have the OpenTX Companion utility go to the link below under the News section click on the latest version. You then go to the bottom of the page to Download Links and you will see the link to download the latest OpenTX companion utility.

When there is a new OpenTX firmware, but not every time, you need to recompile your SD card contents the link below will send you to my video on how I do this.

Download OpenTX SD Card Contents:

Go to News and click on latest release. Go to download links and click download SD Card contents. Then download the correct SD Card contents for your radio i.e. opentx-tx12.

I suggest you then remove your SD Card from your radio and format it in your computer. If you have no custom sounds, custom pictures or Amber sounds just copy the contents to your radio’s SD Card and put the SD Card back in your radio and you should be good to go. You can connect your radio to your computer via the USB port and copy the files to the SD Card overwriting the contents but I prefer to remove the SD card from the computer because the process is far quicker on your computer.
