Outdoor Adventures in Eastern Crete - Hiking a Gorge, Almost Private Island, Horses and More!

We drove to Eastern Crete and hiked the Richtis Gorge to see a waterfall, the hike was challenging but fun. Then we went to the Sitia Beach Hotel and had a great dinner with Elina, our hostess from the tourism board.

The next morning we went to a small village to a bakery to see some traditional pastries being made, then checked into our favorite place, the Terra Minoiki in Kato Zakros, such an out of the way place, so peaceful. We had some great meals, saw another gorge, then it was time to head to Chrissi Island.

We took a small pontoon boat to Chrissi Island, this was the nicest sand beach of the trip, not many people, blue water, amazing. Then it was time to head to the Miramare all inclusive resort.

The next morning we had a boat tour and picnic, visited Spinalonga island, a former leper colony.

Our final day we visited Fourni Horses and had a 90 minute horseback ride around the area. We then had lunch at the Wyndham Grand Crete Mirabello Bay, then it was time to say our goodbyes. Such a fun 12 nights in Crete with everyone, thanks again to everyone who helped make this trip possible!
