Aeroflot 593 in turboprop flight simulator

Aeroflot Flight 593, a passenger flight from Moscow to Hong Kong, crashed on March 23, 1994, killing all 75 people on board. The accident occurred when the relief captain, Yaroslav Vladimirovich Kudrinsky, allowed his 15-year-old son Eldar to sit at the controls of the Airbus A310-304 aircraft. Eldar unknowingly disengaged the autopilot's control of the aircraft's ailerons, causing the plane to roll into a steep bank and near-vertical dive. Despite the pilots' efforts to regain control, they were unable to recover the aircraft due to the high altitude loss and the complexity of the situation.
The cockpit voice recorder revealed that the crew was unaware of the autopilot's partial disconnection because the Airbus A310 lacked the audible alarms present in Soviet aircraft, which the pilots were more familiar with. Additionally, the first officer's seat was all the way back, making it difficult for him to reach the controls effectively.
Ultimately, the pilots' inability to regain control of the aircraft led to a stall and a fatal spin, resulting in the crash into the Kuznetsk Alatau mountain range in Kemerovo Oblast, Russia.
Aeroflot initially denied the presence of children in the cockpit but had to acknowledge it when a Moscow-based magazine published a transcript of the cockpit voice recording.
This tragic incident highlights the dangers of allowing untrained individuals in the cockpit and the importance of proper training and procedures for pilots.
