Gastrulation Its Associated Disease: Chordoma, Diastematomyelia, and Teratoma

In this video we will finish our discussion of gastrulation by reviewing primitive streak formation and discussing formation of the notochord. If either of these tubelike structures failed to degenerate away (as they're supposed to) child may be affected by some nasty tumors: chordoma and teratoma. And, failure of the neurenteric canal to close properly results in a disorder called diastematomyelia, where the person has two spinal cords! Good board stuff!
