Series 60 or any motor, crank but no start. TRS (Timing Reference Sensor)

This TRS is called crank sensor on a car and I'm sure all motors with a ECM on cars, trucks and probably even late model motorcycles will have a crank sensor and or a cam sensor of some sort to tell the ECM (electronic control module) what the crankshaft and camshaft timing are at any given point so the fuel and (ignition on gas motors) is to be delivered to each cylinder at the precise time. Here in this video is an example of the TRS or crank sensor on a series 60 Detroit.
It will probably be in a similar position on any motor and can be on either side or on the rear of a motor including the bell housing as well.
