How to lead worship the correct way!

Psalms 25:9 “He leads the humble in what is right, and teaches the humble his way.”

Leading worship is much more than singing or playing. It’s a melting pot of things that insures the congregation will engage and surrender their hearts to Christ when leading worship.

Most worship leaders rehearse just the music to get ready for A service and even though that’s part of it, it’s not the main focus. So I’m going to give you a few points that will help you lead the congregation to be more engaged in worship rather than just being entertained.

This channel helps develop new worship leaders to lead worship with the right heart and help bring people to the throne of God to be delivered and set free from bondage!

Today I’m going to discuss a few things to help you lead worship correctly. So let’s get started!

Number 1.. make sure your song list reach all types of ppl. This is not to compromise in any way but to meet the ppl where they are at. That means doing contemporary, traditional Gospel, English and Spanish, and hymns. The music that is chosen is not for yourself but for the ppl. We have to stop being culturally and ethnically driven and be Godly driven when selecting music.

Number two
have a list of scriptures that coincide with the songs that are selected. Engaging with the congregation is not telling them to raise their hands and sing with you but to take them to the throne of God with the Word of Truth. And they will submit to the word and not your commands.

Number 3
Allow other team members to lead songs. Some songs are not meant to fit your voice or tone. So you have to select a member that match the tone of the song. Even if you change the key of the song to match your tone will sometimes change the feel of the song and will not have the same effect as it does in a the original key.

Number 4
Allow space for spontaneous worship. Now this my not happen every service, but it will certainly happen when flowing in the vain of God. And don’t force this to happen just allow God to have his way but never force it.

Number 5

Don’t entertain, but lead them.performance is not your goal but going to The threshing floor is! There’s always this fine line between this in leading worship.
