Should You Get a Minimum Wage Job?
Hey Bulldogs! John Sonmez from Bulldog Mindset Here, where I teach you how to go from the Victim Mindset to the Bulldog Mindset.
Should you get a minimum wage job? like working at McDonald's, subway, be a cashier at Walmart or Target for a short time period let's say 3 months of the summer... Or would you rather work on your entrepreneurship endeavors?
This is a question that I got from one of my devoted follower Grant, who is conflicted between working on his YouTube channel and website or get a minimum wage job to make some money this summer...
In my opinion, I would rather work on something that will continue paying me long term rather than a something that will stop paying me in merely a few months.
Meaning you might make 5000 dollars in the next 3 months working at a minimum wage job, and working at your own business might make you only 1000 dollars for the whole year... but the is, think long term!
It might end up paying you even more on the course of 3 to 4 years, an example of this are the courses courses that I created for Pluralsight, I made about 55 courses, it took a lot of time and effort and a few years to make, and I didn't get paid from the start however, over the course of the next 7 years it made me over 3 million dollars, and I'm not kidding you when I say I'm still getting paid from those courses, I just got a check for 100.000 dollars from them a few weeks ago.
In addition to that how much experience will you gain, how much valuable will you become when you get the skills and ability to make your own money and accelerate it at will.
But there are situation where you should get a minimum wage job.
If it depends on your survival, if you're in a situation where you have to grind 8 hours a day in a minimum wage job in order to survive, then yes, while spending the rest of your time building something that will last you long term.
Working at McDonald's for example, won't get you any experience or skill that's highly valuable and will pay you big money in society, however it might get you by when you're in need.
Anyways guys that's all from me, and Grant hopefully this was of value to you!
